Just because paddle is played in the winter, doesn't mean that you need to have cold hands while you are doing it. It has a rechargeable battery that can be recharged with a standard micro USB cable (the kind used for many electronics).
The handle can be heated up to 50 degrees over the outside temperature. There is also an on/off button so you can turn it off if not needed.
